1 dead in Makati City blaze

MANILA, Philippines - One person perished while at least four families were displaced when fire broke out in Baragay Pio del Pilar, Makati City at noon time Thursday, authorities reported.   The Makati City Fire Station said one person was confirmed dead after a residential compound with five houses located at Taylo corner Villar Streets caught fire at 12:22 p.m.   The casualty, however, has yet to be identified, fire officials said.   The fire reached second alarm at 12:37 p.m. and was declared out at 1:41 p.m.   The Makati City police reported that estimated damage to property is P200,000.   Police said the cause of the conflagrati...
