The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said that the postponed 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in the war-torn Marawi City in Lanao del Sur will be held on September 22. Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez announced this on Wednesday after the poll body earlier conducted an assessment to determine whether or not an election should be scheduled in the city which had been ravaged after a five-month clash between the state forces and Islamic State (IS) inspired fighters.
