PUERTO PRINCESA CITY -- Incumbent Palawan governor Jose Alvarez is on the lead in the provincial gubernatorial race according to official results from the provincial board of canvassers Tuesday 12:53 p.m. With more than 91.33 percent votes counted, Alvarez has 190,339 votes over Ventura's 116,734. Three other candidates garnered a total of 13,814. Based on the latest count, Alvarez's running mate, Dennis Socrates, is also set to win by a wide margin garnering a total of 225,049 votes against his opponent, Mariano Parangue Sr., having 34,246.
