MANILA, Philippines --- Approximately 3,000 demonstrators from various labor groups converged at Mendiola, Manila to hold a protest action on Labor Day. Despite the scorching heat, thousands of labor workers united on Wednesday to call on the government to increase the minimum wage to P750. Carrying flags and tarpaulins, protesters also urged the government to end contractualization, a long time issue in the country.
