MANILA, Philippines --- As the government sold more short-dated debt paper on the back of easing inflation, the amount of outstanding government-issued IOUs inched up to P5.204 trillion at end-April. The latest Bureau of the Treasury data showed that the total outstanding treasury bills and bonds as of last month rose from P5.196 trillion in March. Outstanding T-bills increased to P622.1 billion from P607.6 billion a month ago as the Treasury awarded bigger volumes amid strong demand.
