LUCENA CITY -- The son of a mayoral candidate in Mulanay town in Quezon province died in a vehicular accident in Macalelon town Tuesday afternoon, police said Wednesday. Jigo Carlo de Luna, 28, son of Mulanay mayoral candidate Emman De Luna, was aboard a sports utility van being driven by Rosendo Samilay when the vehicle accidentally hit the steel railing on the roadside and consequently crashed into two residential houses and a parked motorcycle in Barangay Taguin at 2:15 p.m. Samilay and Jigo Carlo, who was at the passenger seat, both suffered injuries and were rushed to Gumaca District Hospital.
