PILI, Camarines Sur -- A teacher who went into politics is the new representative of the fifth district of Camarines Sur province. The Commission on Elections on Wednesday proclaimed Josal Fortuno winner with 115,355 votes defeating defeating rivals lawyer Peachy Alfelor, who garnered 83,392, and Jesus Aure who got 1,634 votes. She replaced her husband Salvio Fortuno, who is now on his last term as representative of the same district. Prior to becoming a congressman, Salvio served as a provincial board member then vice governor of Camarines Sur.
