The inauguration of the P8.9-billion Bohol-Panglao international airport is set for Tuesday, Nov. 27, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Monday. A joint statement by the DOTr and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the country's "first eco-airport" will feature green and sustainable structures, such as solar panels and motion sensor lighting, among others. It was constructed at the 220-hectare site in Panglao Island and costs P8.914 billion. The facility can hold a total 650 passengers during peak hours, 200 passengers more than what Tagbilaran airport could hold, the DOTr and the CAAP said.
