MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The earthquake was recorded at 8:40 a.m., some 356 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. Phivolcs said that the temblor was of tectonic origin, and had a depth of 4 kilometers.
