DAVAO CITY, Philippines--Two successive earthquakes jolted Surigao del Norte at dawn on Independence, Wednesday, June 12, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The first earthquake measuring magnitude 4.5 was recorded at 1:42 a.m. in an area 17 kilometers southeast of the town of General Luna and at a depth of 13 km. The quake was felt at Intensity 4 in the towns of General Luna and Dapa, the Philvocs said.
