MANILA, Philippines --- Google on Friday celebrated the 105th birthday of Filipino author Genoveva Matute with a tribute doodle. In the Google doodle, Matute could be seen writing on a desk in front of bookshelves. Matute was a writer and academic who became widely known for her short stories, many of which fictionalized scenes from Filipino history. Considered as Matute's most famous work is "Ang Kuwento Ni Mabuti" ("The Story of Mabuti") which was published in 1948.
