LEGAZPI CITY - The province of Catanduanes has been placed under a state of calamity due to the rising number of dengue fever cases. Dr. Hazel Palmes, chief of the Catanduanes Health Office, said reports from the Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (PESU), recorded 1,928 dengue cases with three deaths from January 1 to August 30. Catanduanes Vice Gov. Shirley Abundo, who is also acting provincial governor, signed the resolution passed by members of the Provincial Board on Monday.
