Philippines to protest Chinese ships’ presence in Ayungin Shoal

MANILA, Philippines - Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. has ordered the filing of a diplomatic protest over the presence of Chinese vessels in Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal in the West Philippine Sea. Responding to Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Noel Clement's confirmation that a Chinese Coast Guard vessel was spotted four to five nautical miles away from Ayungin Shoal, Locsin tweeted Wednesday: "@DFAPHL Fire off another diplomatic protest, Igor.
