MANILA, Philippines --- A magnitude 4.8 earthquake rattled Itbayat, Batanes on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The quake, Phivolcs said, struck at 12:54 a.m. at eight kilometers northwest of Itbayat. The temblor was of tectonic in origin and had a 77-kilometer depth of focus.
