LEGAZPI CITY - A police officer was gunned down Thursday night by a lone assassin in Batuan, Masbate. Police Senior Master Sergeant Oscar Alegada, 43, a native of Batuan and assigned at the town's police station, was gunned down along a road in Barangay (village) Canvanez at around 7:10 p.m., Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson said. Witnesses said Alegada was conversing with a police non-uniformed personnel, when he was attacked.
