MANILA, Philippines - About 850 passengers were offloaded from a northbound Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) train on Wednesday morning due to a defective door. The MRT-3 management said the passengers were unloaded at Shaw Boulevard station at 6:32 a.m. The passengers boarded on the next train which arrived minutes later, it added. A train with defective doors cannot move or gain traction, MRT-3 the management explained. The cause of the door malfunction is under investigation, but MRT-3 management said it may have been caused by "stress on door components caused by leaning on the door or forcing it open."
