MANILA, Philippines --- A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck the waters off Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental in the early hours of Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The quake struck at 12:39 a.m. 40 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso. Phivolcs said that the tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a 29-kilometer depth of focus.
