MANILA, Philippines --- While thankful for the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) order, ride-hailing firm Grab proposed on Friday that hatchback-type vehicles be "permanently allowed" to operate as transport network vehicle service (TNVS). Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade earlier ordered the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to implement its Memorandum Circular 2018-005, which allows accredited hatchback cars to operate as TNVS if they only operate during the transition period of three years, only in Metro Manila, and charge a lower fare.
